WATERFORD MINORS IMPRESSIVE WIN OVER LAOIS

Waterford minor camogie team played their second round of the All Ireland Championship in Cappoquin G.A.A Grounds on Saturday last May 10th.The Waterford girls were all out to win this match after been beaten by Offaly the previous week. From the very first whistle of the game it was clear to see the determination of the Waterford side as they pushed forward, putting the Laois backs under pressure. In fairness the Laois girls held the Waterford side scoreless for the fist five minutes of the game, until Trish Jackman opened the score with a lovely point from play. From then on Waterford were in total control of the game scoring 5 - 6 to 1 - 0. The second half began the same as the first, with Waterford displaying some fine camogie with some sweet moves which was a joy to watch. At this stage the game was all but over and the selectors were able to use all subs. All girls from 1 to 23 had a part in this victory. Final score Waterford 5 - 14 Laois 2 - 1. The next game is set for next Saturday against Armagh in Armagh.
